Job Description

General Carpentry / Maintenance Person located at 1260 Clarence Avenue. This is a full time position, 40 hours per week. Regular shift Monday to Friday.Performs tasks related to renovations and improvements, able to work independently or coordinate construction work and small lead teams on various job sites as needed.Requirements:

  • Follow sketches, drawings, or blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of the site.
  • Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, and molding. Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials. Construct and install building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes. Repairing studs, drywall, painting
  • Dependable, organized, good communication skills
  • 3 to 5 years minimum experience
  • Must be able to work at heights, ladders,
  • Carpentry and wood working tool skills, basic hand tools required to be supplied by company.
  • Basic electrical knowledge and ability to rough in 120v circuits
  • Mechanical aptitude for: Basic plumbing, basic appliance trouble shooting and repair.
  • Valid driver’s license and comfortable driving a pick-up truck
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be physically capable of performing all functions of the job
Duties:
  • Open and close company cottages located at Lake of the Woods in Kenora, Ontario and the three cottages at Victoria Beach
  • General maintenance and grounds keeping of the cottages
  • General facilities maintenance and repair both and in the plant and office area.
  • Basic furniture repair and assembly abilities
  • Basic electrical work, plumbing, appliance troubleshooting and repair
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager
