Job Description

Job Summary:CDC Computers, a premier technology retailer and service provider in Winnipeg, is seeking an experienced Computer Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems and skilled in laptop hardware repairs, including screen, DC jack, and port replacements. This role demands technical expertise, a high standard of customer service, and the ability to clearly communicate repair details and options to customers.Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues across Windows, Mac, and Linux systems.
  • Execute hardware repairs and replacements, including laptop screens, DC jacks, and various ports (USB, HDMI, etc.).
  • Perform comprehensive system inspections to identify issues and provide preventive maintenance.
  • Assist customers by explaining technical problems and available solutions in clear, accessible language.
  • Maintain accurate records of service repairs and communicate job progress with customers and team members.
  • Stay current with industry trends, hardware advancements, and software updates.
  • Comply with CDC Computers’ quality and safety standards in all repair tasks.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Computer Technician or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing issues in Windows, Mac, and Linux environments.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware repairs, including screen replacements, DC jacks, and port installations.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills for effectively conveying technical details.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team setting.
  • Native English comprehension in both written and spoken form.
  • CompTIA A+ certification or similar (preferred but not required).
  • Valid driver’s license.
