Job Description

Job Overview:Join our team as an Electrical Designer where you will work with a dedicated team to design and integrate electrical/electronic systems for Versatile #39;s next generation of heavy-duty agricultural machinery. You will see projects from start to finish by taking an active role in all phases of development, from concept and design to integration and testing. We take a hands-on approach to design, so expect to spend time away from your desk working directly with prototype vehicles.Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for electrical design, development and system integration, including but not limited to high-voltage power distribution, low-voltage power distribution and electrical harness design.
  • Ensure components and systems meet specified technical product demands, product safety requirements, market regulations and relevant industry standards.
  • Analyze product requirements, concepts, proposals and perform gap analysis.
  • Create and maintain documentation associated with projects including product and component specifications, functional block diagrams and detailed electrical schematics.
  • Working closely with design team members for the integration of electrical/electronic systems with hydraulics, structures and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct hazard analysis and risk assessment as part of the functional safety of the design.
  • Use test equipment (oscilloscopes, meters, analyzers, data loggers etc.) to measure performance and troubleshoot.
Qualifications:
  • B.Sc. in Electrical or related engineering discipline.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with APEGM.
  • Minimum of 5 years design experience in mobile/self-propelled equipment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle electrical/electronics, electric motors, data busses including CAN bus(SAE J1939), ISOBUS (ISO 11783).
  • Interest in vehicle electrification, automation and control.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA (SAE J1739) and functional safety (ISO 25119, 26262).
  • Knowledge of related industry standards, safety and compliance.
  • Experience with electrical CAD software, Zuken E3.cable preferred.
  • Proven ability to meet deadline/successful completion of deliverables.
  • A strong technical capability and ability to work in a team environment.
