Job Description

Darling Ingredients, a division of Darling International Canada Inc., is Canada #39;s largest provider of rendering and recycling services to the food industry, operating six processing facilities across Canada. Darling Ingredients provides essential services for the efficient and environmentally responsible management of collecting, processing and recycling edible and inedible animal by-products. Darling Ingredients is committed to environmental sustainability, superior quality and excellent customer service.JOB SUMMARY:We are seeking a certified electrician for full time day shifts at our Winnipeg facility. We offer $44.82 per hour and overtime after 8-hour shifts, 10hr shifts can be considered. PLC and VFD training are provided if needed.SCHEDULE:Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PMSunday - to Thursday 8:00am to 4:00PMMust be available to be on call on rotations.POSITION TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, instrumentation and controls on various types of equipment
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and electrical code specifications
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders and other electrical components
  • Ability to work up to and including 600VAC systems and equipment.
  • Install and troubleshoot PLC5, RS logic, RS view, Allen Bradley controls, Factory talk, Device Netamp; Ethernet systems.
  • Work independently when required, and as part of a team when appropriate
  • Troubleshoot and solve a variety of problems during the shift
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Promote and comply with Health and Safety regulations
  • Other duties as assigned - Indoor and Outdoor
  • Overtime Available
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Certified Electrician ticket required-Trade certificate - 442A or 309A
  • Proof of Apprenticeship
  • Proven track record in troubleshooting, knowledge of PLC #39;s, VFD #39;s and soft starts
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC #39;s, VFD #39;s and soft starts will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Good computer knowledge is an asset
  • Sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Accustomed to working with computerized maintenance and inventory reporting systems
