Job Summary: This Enterprise Architect role requires a seasoned IT professional with extensive experience in solution architecture, enterprise-level design, and technical leadership. The architect will be responsible for translating business needs into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards, and developing strategies for future IT initiatives. This will include creating and maintaining documentation for various aspects of the solution lifecycle, from business drivers to technical specifications and implementation considerations. The position requires strong communication skills to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior management. Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba, CanadaResponsibilities: - Document business drivers, client processes, and their contribution to business goals. - Analyze business needs and propose technical and non-technical solutions. - Translate business requirements into high-level design specifications. - Design and document cost-effective, innovative, and operationally supportable solutions. - Document the structure and relationships of business processes, organizational groups, data, applications, and infrastructure. - Design solutions considering business, technical, and financial constraints. - Develop solutions that account for IT operational limitations and opportunities. - Document effort, risk, costs, and complexity of potential solutions. - Research and write discussion documents on emerging technologies, vendors, and product offerings. - Review proposed solution architectures for alignment with enterprise architecture roadmaps and standards. - Ensure solution architectures meet objectives for availability, reliability, performance, scalability, maintainability, manageability, and security. - Identify trends and create strategy/roadmap documents for IT initiatives (IoT, information management, data analytics, cloud platforms). - Develop enterprise principles, standards, and guidelines for enterprise solutions. - Develop governance for enterprise solution approvals. - Conduct solution architecture reviews to ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture. - Develop templates for solution architectures and solution design documents. - Develop or update domain-specific architectures (business, application, mobile, data/information architecture). - Perform other architect duties as assigned. Required Skillsamp; Certifications: - Minimum eight (8) years of experience in technical IT roles within complex enterprise environments. - Minimum three (3) years of experience developing solution architectures on n-tiered platforms. - Expert knowledge of Information Architecture principles, data management, data integration, and data quality platforms/tools. - Expert knowledge in at least one enterprise ETL tool. - Minimum three (3) years of experience architecting solutions involving complex integration scenarios (multi-platform, competing technologies, SaaS, PaaS). - Knowledge of process re-engineering principles, requirements gathering, and middleware management. - Ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple non-technical terms. - Ability to adapt to change in dynamically evolving situations. - Ability to work in a team environment. - Minimum five (5) years of experience in an Enterprise Architect role. - Experience communicating and presenting to senior executive management. - Minimum five (5) years of experience developing and implementing standards, principles, guidelines, strategies, and roadmaps for the enterprise. - Excellent customer service skills.
