Job Description

Job Summary:CDC Computers is seeking a skilled In-houseamp; Onsite IT Technician proficient in spoken and written English to provide desktop support, basic server maintenance, and networking solutions. This role also includes hardware repairs, network cabling, and IoT installations at client locations. The ideal candidate will have basic mechanical skills to change parts in devices such as servers, dispensers, and printers, and be available for on-call and emergency services.Key Responsibilities:

  • Desktopamp; Laptop Support:
    • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
    • Perform system updates, software installations, and virus/malware removal.
    • Configure and troubleshoot printers, scanners, and other external devices.
  • Basic Server Maintenance:
    • Assist in basic server setup and configuration (Windows/Linux).
    • Monitor server health, perform backups, and ensure proper security protocols.
    • Replace components in servers and other equipment as needed.
  • Networkingamp; Cabling:
    • Install, terminate, and test network cables (Ethernet, fiber optic).
    • Set up and maintain small to mid-size networks, including switches, routers, and access points.
    • Install and maintain IoT devices and systems.

  • Onsite Support:
    • Provide IT support to clients onsite, ensuring timely and professional service.
    • Set up and configure client systems, including PCs, servers, and networking equipment.
    • Assist with cabling, including new network installations and upgrades.
    • Be available for on-call and emergency service calls.
  • Mechanical Knowledge:
    • Perform basic mechanical tasks, such as changing parts in servers, printers, and other devices.
  • Documentationamp; Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of all work performed using ticketing software.
    • Create and update documentation for system setups, network configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
Qualifications:
  • Educationamp; Certifications:
    • Diploma or degree in Information Technology or related field.
    • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Cisco CCNA are preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of experience in IT support, desktop maintenance, and networking.
    • Hands-on experience with server maintenance, network cabling, and hardware repairs.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient with Windows and Mac operating systems.
    • Basic understanding of server maintenance and networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
    • Experience with cabling, network installations, and IoT setups.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Strong spoken and written communication skills in English.
    • Valid driver’s license (own vehicle preferred).
    • Bondable and insurable.
    • Available for on-call and emergency calls.
