We are inviting those who live what we sell every day and who celebrate the love of golf to Come Out and Play!Job Title: Accounts Payable SpecialistReports To: Accounts Payable/Receivable SupervisorThe Accounts Payable Specialist completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling merchandise and non-merchandise invoices as well as the reconciliation of monthly statements for vendor partners.This position will also be responsible for the completion of daily audit and reconciliation of sales and associated payments received, as well as the related monthly month-end close responsibilities.Description of Job Responsibilities:Accounts Payable:

  • Review all invoices and record for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
  • Prioritize invoices per their payment requirements.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries.
  • Reconcile trade statements, investigate and correct discrepancies.
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy.
  • Provide filling and audit support as required.
  • Process cheques, EFT, and wire payments.
  • Prepare and distribute invoices related to gift cards.
  • Assist in month end closing as required.
  • Reconcile A/P payment registry with CAD, USD cheque/wire disbursements, CAD EFT payments.
  • Other duties (ex. assisting AR function) as required.
Sales Audit:
  • Ensure that store cash deposits are made on a timely basis.
  • Complete daily sales audit responsibilities and cash & credit card settlement reconciliations.
  • Ensure the timely & accurate resolution of any differences identified.
  • Complete month end close responsibilities – closing sub ledgers, posting related journal entries.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure that all financial transactions are captured and properly recorded in the appropriate period.
  • Ongoing review of existing processes and procedures to eliminate non-value added activities, reduce processing time and eliminate manual intervention.
Essential Requirements and Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 year accounts payable experience;
  • Strong Excel/Word software background required; Sage accounting software a plus
  • Good organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work under a tight schedule.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
