We are a progressive company with practitioner responsibilities in accordance with current practice guidelines associated with Saskatchewan Health Protocols in providing BLS, ICP and/or ALS care.In addition to ensuring consistent and proficient utilization of medical and communications equipment; maintaining a positive, professional relationship with field personnel, administrative staff, associated law enforcement agencies, fire, and other medical personnel; individuals must also posses and demonstrate a positive leadership role within the profession and in the public arena.The practitioner position encompasses a combination of regular worked hours, on call hours, shift/weekend differentials and overtime hours. Average entry level (Step 1 HSAS) gross salary of $60,000 to $70,000+/year. Current full time schedule deployment includes 6 days on/3 days off. BOX 1179WYNYARD SKS0A 4TOSUCCESSFUL APPLICANTSThe Primary Care Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (PCP/EMT) and Intermediate Care Paramedic/ Emergency Medical Technician- Advanced integrates skills and knowledge in the provision care during the delivery of Mobile Health Services including Emergency Medical Services and Community Paramedicine Services.Minimum Requirements for EMT/PCP & EMT-A /ICP:Minimum Class 4 Saskatchewan Motor Vehicle Operators License.Working knowledge of the legislation, protocols and scope of practice as applicable to EMS practitioners within the province of Saskatchewan.Understanding of the Ambulance Act, Paramedics Act, and Highway Traffic Act.The ability to work to the required scope of practice.CPR (BLS for HCP) certification.Competent communication skills including the ability to read and write and to understand verbal and written instructions.Excellent interpersonal skills.Flexible and adaptable to a changing workload.Physically fit and able to perform duties.Ability to work as part of a health care team.Adherence to the philosophy, vision, mission, strategies, policies and procedures of the Health Region in which you serve.Demonstrate accountability, promptness, dependability, professionalism and honesty.Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office word processing and spreadsheets, email and InternetGood attendance required.AS PART OF THE EMS TEAM, THE EMS PRACTITIONER WILL:Perform and document readiness checks of the ambulance and equipmentPerform routine ambulance and equipment maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed.Conduct and document weekly “deep clean” and inventory tasks.Perform routine facility and equipment maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed.Participate in required continuing education.Contribute to the maintenance of a positive workplace climate by functioning as a leaderand participative team member for the delivery of health services in the community and inthe region.Ensure the annual Provincial ambulance licensing requirements are metAccept and respond to dispatch information from the communications centre in anappropriate and efficient manner.Act within the scope of practice guidelines while assessing and treating patients accordingthe Saskatchewan Ministry of Health protocols.Provide safe transportation to the appropriate Health Care Facility.Ensure the safe transfer of care of patients by providing a verbal and written report to thestaff at the receiving Health Care Facility.Prepare and submit all required patient documentation in a timely manner.Ensure that the ambulance is ready for the next response by cleaning and restockingsupplies.SELECTIONFor the EMT/PCP and EMT-A/ICP level:Completion of a CMA accredited Pre-Hospital Care Program at the Primary Care Paramedic (PCP/EMT & EMT-A/ICP) level.Current registration with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at the PCP/EMT level.Panel Interview.Quick Apply
