Job Description

Department: Partnerships Reports to: Merchandiseamp; Ticketing Manager Direct Reports: None Position Statusamp; Locations: Temporary, Vancouver On-site Position Start Date: September 2024 Monthly Salary: $4170 - $4600About Invictus Games 2025: The Invictus Games is a biennial international adaptive sporting competition for wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans from around the world. Through the power of sport, the Games inspire recovery, support rehabilitation, and generate a wider understanding and respect for those who have served their country.The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 will take place from February 8 to 16, 2025, on the traditional territories of the Lil̓wat7úl (Líl̓wat), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Over 500 wounded, injured and sick service personnel and Veterans from more than 20 nations are set to compete in a wide range of adaptive sports, including adaptive winter sports, for the first time in Invictus Games history.The Vancouver Whistler Games Corporation (VWGC) is a Canadian not-for-profit organization established to organize and host the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025.The Role As a part of the Ticketingamp; Merchandise team, the coordinator will support the Manager of Ticketingamp; Merchandise with the planning and delivery of the ticketing program for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025. The position will work with internal and external partners to develop operational aspects, executing them to aid in the overall program delivery.Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Coordinate with internal teams and venue managers, as well as external partners such as venues and ticketing solutions provider(s) to deliver the ticketing program.
  • Conduct venue recces for all ticketing operational purposes including sightline inspections, seat kill determinations, mapping for overlays and deployment planning.
  • Develop detailed deployment plans for multiple venues.
  • Liaise with venues and venue managers to implement deployment plans for multiple events.
  • Assist with workforce planning and scheduling.
  • Train and lead volunteers through the deployment process.
  • Understand venue CADs to mark details with overlays.
  • Scale and build manifests with accuracy.
  • Allocate ticket holds/blocks and integrate them into the manifest.
  • Create group and discounted ticket packages with revenue targets in mind.
  • Work with ticketing partner to monitor sale volume and release holds when needed.
  • Capable of internal coordination with operations, volunteer programs and accreditation to integrate plans for optimal personnel utilization on the day of the event.
  • Desire to help with other operational aspects including merchandising when necessary.
Qualifications, Skills, Competencies:
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working in ticketing operations.
  • Previous experience working in sports or major events.
  • Prior experience with the ticket sales process.
  • Some experience with sports operations including merchandising and volunteer management.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD is appreciated but not necessary.
  • Ability to communicate with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Excellent computer skills across the Microsoft suite of programs, with a focus on Excel.
  • Capable of reading venue CADs and layouts.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of ticketing operations.
  • Understanding of ticketing and hospitality packages.
  • A keen eye for detail and numbers.
  • Capable of working long hours in the office and in the field leading up to the event, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to identify problems/issues and find the best solution to resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage relationships in a diverse, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Results-focused with the ability to operate in a deadline-driven, high-pressure environment.
  • Passion for or understanding of the Invictus Games mission and/or the Canadian military, and fluency in French (verbal and written) are assets.
