  • Mobility and dexterity to make beds; dust all room surfaces; clean toilets, mirrors, and bathtubs.

What youll do
  • Replace guest amenities and supplies in rooms
  • Make beds and fold sheets
  • Remove trash, dirty linens and room service items
  • Straighten desk items, furniture and appliances
  • Dust, polish and remove marks from walls and furnishings
  • Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing
  • Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards
  • Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies
  • Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience
  • Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices
  • Cleaning and sanitising toilets, showers/bathtubs, countertops, and sinks
  • Washing windows
  • Sweeping/vacuuming, polishing, and mopping hard floors
  • Sorting, washing, loading, and unloading laundry; perform laundry duties as necessary
  • Cleaning mirrors and other glass surfaces
  • Emptying trash receptacles and disposing of waste
  • Clean coffee/tea makers, refrigerators and microwave ovens
  • Steaming and cleaning draperies
  • Washing blinds
  • Ensuring that all vital information is passed on to the Housekeeping Supervisor, i.e. room damage, lost and found, routine maintenance, etc.
  • Is knowledgeable about different room amenities and all hotel services and amenities.
  • Stock and maintain housekeeping supply rooms
  • Greet and assist guests with requests and questions as necessary
  • Stay apprised of hotel promotions, guest arrivals and departures, and department policy and procedures.
  • Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing customer service.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with departmental policies, services, procedures and standards.
  • Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
  • All other duties as assigned that will assist and support the mandate of the Hotel and its ongoing success.
