Learn more about the YHF at www.yarmouthhospitalfoundation.caJob DescriptionThe Marketing Communications Officer will report to the Managing Director and be a key player in developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing communications and public relations strategy aligned with the mission of the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation and designed to maximize the Foundation’s fundraising success and public profile.Responsibilities· Working with Managing Director, develop and implement an annual marketing communications and public relations plan to include external communications, internal communications, media relations, social media marketing/promotions and community relations.· Proactively identify and organize opportunities to increase YHF’s brand presence and awareness.· Develop digital strategies to grow and enhance YHF’s fundraising and profile on all social media platforms· Oversee the production of all YHF communication and marketing materials including social media, brochures, videos, appeal letters, donor impact stories and presentations.· Work with Managing Director to ensure that the website is functional, user friendly and is used effectively as both a communications and fundraising tool· Communicate news and information with media through media releases about YHF, initiatives and impact on community healthcare.· Plan and develop content for newsletters and annual report· Develop metrics to measure effectiveness and efficiency of marketing strategy.· Manage communications / public relations budget· Attend board and committee meetings as defined by Managing Director· Other duties as assigned by the Managing DirectorQualifications· Post-secondary degree in communications, public relations, marketing or a related field.· Ability to interact comfortably with a variety of stakeholders including donors, hospital staff, media and community members.· Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentation skills.· Excellent organizational skills, with a proven ability to work on multiple tasks effectively.· Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and accept direction.· Being bilingual will be an asset.Work With UsThis is a full-time position in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
