Job Summary: The Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for translating data into actionable business insights to support strategic decisions. This involves designing, developing, and maintaining complex dashboards, scorecards, and visual analytics using Power BI and Azure-based data platforms. The analyst will work closely with business users, data architects, and data engineers to manage data pipelines, gather reporting requirements, and present findings to stakeholders. The primary focus will be on supporting the Digital Regulatory Assurance System (DRAS) program, with potential expansion to other data initiatives. Location: Alberta, Canada,Responsibilities: - Design and develop complex dashboards, scorecards, and visual analytics using Power BI. - Design, develop, and maintain data models and visualizations using Microsoft Power BI and Azure-based data platforms. - Create optimized, reusable data models using DAX and Power Query M for enterprise-wide reporting. - Build interactive dashboards and reports tailored to business needs using Microsoft Power BI. - Integrate Power BI with various Microsoft Azure data sources and on-premises databases. - Work closely with business users, data architects, and data engineers to manage data pipelines, staging areas, and semantic models. - Work with business units to gather reporting requirements and KPIs. - Translate ambiguous business questions into concrete BI solutions. - Present insights and findings in clear, executive-friendly formats. - Provide end-user training and support to ensure adoption of BI tools. - Maintain and publish datasets and dashboards in Power BI Service with scheduled refreshes and alerts. - Optimize dashboards and reports for performance. - Implement security and user access controls within PowerBI. - Implement incremental data refresh, row-level security (RLS), and performance tuning strategies in Power BI. - Conduct deep-dive analytics to uncover trends, anomalies, and business opportunities. - Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security compliance across all reporting assets. - Other duties as needed. Required Skillsamp; Certifications: - Experience designing and developing dashboards, scorecards, and visual analytics using Power BI. - Experience designing, developing, and maintaining data models and visualizations using Microsoft Power BI and Azure-based data platforms. - Experience with Data Modelingamp; ETL Development. - Experience creating optimized, reusable data models using DAX and Power Query M. - Experience building interactive dashboards and reports tailored to business needs using Microsoft Power BI. - Experience integrating Power BI with various Microsoft Azure data sources and on-premises databases.
