Job Summary: The Semantic Data Architect will support the design, development, and implementation of cloud-based semantic architectures, services, and tools. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to architect and operationalize semantic layers, knowledge graphs, and AI-enabled data services. The goal is to enhance data access, collaboration, and innovation across the government to improve services. Location: Alberta, Canada.,Responsibilities: - Lead the design and implementation of semantic data models for generative AI applications and conversational user interfaces. - Develop and manage ontologies, taxonomies, and metadata standards. - Document architecture decisions, standards, and best practices. - Architect and maintain scalable cloud-based infrastructure for semantic data integration, knowledge graphs, and AI-driven services. - Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to align semantic architecture with strategies and ensure interoperability. - Integrate generative AI tools with enterprise data systems. - Support the development of conversational user interfaces, AI-enabled data products, and AI agents. - Ensure policy-aligned data privacy, security, and ethical AI practices. - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members. - Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies in semantic knowledge, AI, and data architectures. Required Skillsamp; Certifications: - Diverse range of technical skills and experience working in complex, multi-disciplinary environments. - Experience with semantic architecture design, cloud platform integration, data governance, metadata and ontology management, and AI infrastructure development. - Experience with Agile and DevOps practices. Special Considerations: - Resource must provide their own computer and related equipment compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). - Work must be done from within Canada. - The role is primarily remote, but attendance at onsite meetings may be required with reasonable notice. Travel expenses to and from Edmonton and/or travel within Alberta will not be covered. - The resource will be required to complete mandatory training, including Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Security awareness training. - Standard Background Check required. Scheduling: - Standard hours of work are 08:15 16:30 Alberta time, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. - Occasional requests for work outside of standard hours or limited overtime may be needed to meet critical deadlines.
