They are responsible for providing accurate estimates and scope of work to our customers for proposed projects. This individual works closely with Procurement, Operations, and Field Services, to ensure accuracy of quotes; and ensures proper project information is provided to Engineering, Operations, Field Services and Project Management. The Project Estimator provides positive and professional experience to our customers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare accurate proposals from Requests For Quotations from customers
  • Work with Project Management on estimating projects
  • Provide professional and positive customer experience
  • Provide expertise knowledge to customersamp; supervisors to ensure projects are done accurately on budgetamp; on time
  • Manage in-progress jobs; ensuring jobs are complete for deadlines on budgetamp; on time
  • Review drawings before they go to the shop
  • Balance a workload of multiple projects
  • Involved in all stages of the design process from conception to plan presentations, including creation of detailed shop drawings
  • Develop extensive knowledge of product line, preferred practices and all applicable industry standards
  • Conduct necessary site visits with Project Management to obtain field measurements in order to complete detailed drawings when necessary
  • Attend Project Kick-Off meetings as required
  • Correspond with Project Management to ensure design is reflective of the scope of work
  • Always conduct oneself in a professional manner in alignment with Company values, including but not limited to language use, attire, and workmanship
  • In accordance with company policy and relevant employment legislation, overtime and work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the Company
  • All other duties as assigned
RequirementsREQUIRED EXPERIENCEamp; QUALIFICATIONS
  • Completion of College/University degree or diploma or equivalent job experience
  • 3+ years experience in similar estimation role
  • Strong engineering and manufacturing knowledge
  • Able to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Creative thinker
  • Analytical mindset
  • Strong organizational, time and budget management skills
  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
ASSETS
  • Experience with SolidWorks an asset
  • Experience with MS Project an asset
  • Knowledge of fabrication, programming, electrical and millwrighting an asset
