Job Summary: This role involves working as a Senior Full Stack Developer within a team focused on service innovation, program review, and digital transformation projects for the government. The position requires participation in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from research and discovery to deployment and ongoing maintenance, collaborating with cross-functional teams and product owners. The initial contract is for one year, with the possibility of a 24-month extension. The work will primarily be remote, with occasional in-person meetings in Edmonton and potential travel within Alberta for field research. Location: Alberta, CanadaResponsibilities: - Participate in project research and discovery, including field research and user interviews. - Lead technical discovery and produce related documentation (diagrams, etc.). - Design and develop software solutions based on project discovery findings. - Develop features for ongoing projects, meeting product owner needs and improving user experience. - Identify and resolve functional and non-functional defects. - Enhance solution code quality, tooling, and documentation for maintainability. - Collaborate with frontend designers for consistent design. - Advise product owners on technical options for efficient delivery. - Support solution deployment and launch. - Contribute to a platform of reusable services and components. - Support ongoing development through onboarding, documentation maintenance, and process improvement. Required Skillsamp; Certifications: - Full stack development expertise. - Experience with agile methodologies. - Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. - Strong problem-solving and communication skills. - Ability to provide two project examples demonstrating expertise. Preferred Skillsamp; Certifications: - Experience with human-centered design. - Experience with government projects. - Specific technology skills may be specified based on project needs. Special Considerations: - Primarily remote work, but may require in-person meetings in Edmonton and travel within Alberta. - The developer is responsible for providing their own equipment for remote work. - Criminal record check required; Enhanced Security Clearance may be required depending on project assignment. Higher-level security clearances may also be needed. - Mandatory training is required upon hire (Freedom of Information, Security/Cybersecurity, Information Management, Respect in the Workplace, and potentially others). Scheduling: - Full-time (7.25-hour workday). - Work across 2-3 projects simultaneously. - Work hours and location may vary depending on project needs. - Maximum of 1960 hours per term unless otherwise agreed upon.
