Job Summary: This Technical Business Analyst role focuses on adapting energy applications to comply with updated Mine and Minerals Act regulations. The successful candidate will gather and document business and technical requirements, bridge communication between stakeholders, conduct functional testing, mitigate project risks, and manage project communications and reporting. The role is anticipated to be 100% remote, though occasional on-site meetings in Alberta may be required. The resource must supply their own equipment. Location: Alberta, CanadaResponsibilities: - Gathering business, functional, and technical requirements through various methods (interviews, workshops, surveys, document analysis). - Facilitating communication between vendors, client ministries, and corporate teams. - Creating comprehensive requirements documentation (BRDs, functional specifications, user stories, use cases). - Performing functional testing (system testing, UAT, regression testing) and defect tracking. - Identifying and mitigating project risks. - Utilizing change management software (e.g., ServiceNow). - Collaborating with development teams. - Ensuring effective project communication to all stakeholders. - Preparing and delivering regular project status reports. - Escalating unresolved issues and risks with options and recommendations. - Preparing, updating, and managing documents defining business requirements, software requirements, functional design, and project plans. - Performing additional responsibilities as assigned by the Project Manager. Required Skillsamp; Certifications: - Experience gathering and documenting business, functional, and technical requirements. - Strong communication and collaboration skills. - Proficiency in creating requirements documentation (BRDs, functional specifications, user stories, use cases). - Experience in functional testing and defect tracking. - Risk mitigation skills. - Familiarity with change management software. - Ability to work with development teams and understand technical aspects of software projects. - Project reporting and communication skills. Preferred Skillsamp; Certifications: - Experience with ServiceNow or similar change management platform. - Experience in the energy or mining industry. Special Considerations: - The resource must provide their own computer and related equipment compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). Windows OS is preferred. - Work must be performed from within Alberta due to network and data security. - On-site meetings may be required on reasonable notice, with no travel expenses reimbursed by the Province. - A standard background check is required. - Mandatory training (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Security awareness training) is required post-hire. Scheduling: - Standard hours are 8:15 AM - 4:30 PM Alberta time, Monday-Friday, excluding provincial holidays. - 100% remote work is anticipated, with potential for occasional on-site meetings.
