Like family, we support our staff to always do better.With over 70 locations spanning from coast to coast, and trade links around the globe, P&H is growth-oriented, diversified and vertically integrated with operations spanning across grain merchandising, flour milling, crop input distribution and animal feed production.Skills and experience for the next step in your career.As Mill Utility, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for maintaining mill sanitation as well as compliance with food safety and pest management programs. This is an entry level position and your first step in pursuing a career in a wheat flour mill! New hires entering this position will receive cross-training in other positions including Wheat Receiving, Production Utility and Second Miller to provide coverage as required.Total Rewards:

Your day to day activities will include:
  • Maintaining a safe working environment by ensuring Health & Safety programs, policies and procedures are being followed within the mill
  • Ensuring high standards of mill sanitation in accordance with Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards (BRCGS) and Food Safety procedures
  • Assist in managing and monitoring the Integrated Pest Management program
  • Actively participate in maintenance of our Safety and Food Safety cultures
  • Organizing and maintaining sanitation supplies and chemicals
  • General housekeeping, equipment cleaning and maintenance during downtime and heat treatments
  • Assist with food safety inspections, as required
  • Loading and transferring flour for bulk tankers
  • Receiving and testing of incoming wheat trucks
  • Loading of bulk shorts trucks
The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and computer operations
  • Strong communication and decision making skills
  • Self-directed, able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new things
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 operation either on 8-hour or 12-hour shifts (days, evenings, nights), including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work overtime, as needed
