This position will be working at two locations, Ralph McCall School (21 hrs/wk) and Nose Creek Elementary School (14 hrs/wk) starting August 29, 2022. Both schools are located in the City of Airdrie and are home to students from grades K-4. The successful candidate will demonstrate a welcoming and vibrant learner-centered environment and possess a strong technology background.ResponsibilitiesPromote multiple-literacies through instruction with a variety of resources in a Learning Commons (LC) environment (i.e., digital information workshops, CORE, online collections, displays and community resources)Responsible for the ongoing development and integration of LC collections of resources, and maintenance of physical and digital collections to support current curriculumProvide support to staff and students in the use of emerging technology in learning and critical thinking (e-resources, digital media, online databases, digital equipment and other audio-visual equipment)Manage data entry and integrity of an online web-based library management systemManage budget to meet curriculum, patron and multiple-literacy needsTrack and maintain designated LC equipmentDevelop and maintain a LC web pageEducation/ExperienceDiploma or undergraduate degree in library information technology program, or a related fieldPrevious experience/knowledge working in a LC environment would be an assetFamiliarity with audio-visual equipment, computer technology and applications used in library/LC environmentsPre-Employment RequirementsThe successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employmentProof of qualifications/education as required by the positionRocky View Schools Benefits6% vacation payFlex Benefits Plan (Extended health, Dental Benefits, Wellness/Health Care Spending Account(s), Tax Free Savings Account and Registered Retirement Savings PlanDefined Pension PlanProfessional development and training opportunitiesFree parkingOpen to: Internal and external applicantsSalary: Starting hourly rate $24.01 - $29.15 per hourHow to ApplyWe request all applications be placed through http://rockyview.simplication.com/.
