This opportunity will allow you to join an award winning team on Canada’s largest solar panel project, located southwest of the Village of Lomond, in Vulcan County.As an HSE Coordinator for our Travers Solar project, you will contribute to our team during this one-year contract opportunity by:

  • Assisting with implementation and supporting the project HSE Plan, environmental plan, regulatory requirements, and any other safe work practices.
  • Identifying and conducting project specific HSE training.
  • Providing project team with project specific HSE information and trends.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of hazard identification tools.
  • Conducting project HSE inspections and verifying that corrective actions have been implemented.
  • Supporting project teams with the implementation of the emergency response plan and monitoring project security requirements.
  • Verifying that equipment and tool inspections are being conducted and documented as per requirements.
  • Notifying appropriate stakeholders of any incident and supporting the investigation.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Other duties as required.
What you will bring to the role:
  • Working toward postsecondary diploma/degree in OH&S.
  • Working toward safety designation such as NCSO, CRST and/or CRSP.
  • 1 year of experience in a related industry.
  • Ability to learn applicable OH&S, environmental legislation and HSE processes.
  • Demonstrated prioritization, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to effectively problem solve.
  • Ability to learn construction processes and terminology.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
