Job Description

Company ProfileMinto Metals, a producing underground copper mine has exciting opportunities to become part of our team and live by our Company values – Be Safe, Be Honest, Be Responsible, Be Respectful and Be Great!PositionWe are seeking a Metallurgical Technician for a full-time/regular position. This is a fly-in, fly-out position at the Minto mine site with travel to Whitehorse, YT and charter flight to site every Thursday travel day. Rotation is 2 week on/2 week off. Travel to/from Whitehorse is paid for by the Company.Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience as a MetallurgicalTechnician, or related experience;
  • Completed education from a recognized University or Technology school; ideally Mineral processing or chemical engineering;
  • Strong sense of integrity, ethics and desire to positively impact the environment;
  • Ability to develop and foster strong working relationships;
  • Ability to work with a diverse cross-cultural workforce;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Valid drivers license;
  • Physically fit to perform the duties of the position.
Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-operational checks, operate equipment and perform all job functions according to Safe Operating Procedures;
  • Daily production monitoring and reporting as directed;
  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing key metallurgical performance indicators of process operations and recommend corrective actions to the operations team;
  • Under supervision and direction, help coordinate and coach the activities of employees engaged in the metallurgical processes ensuring Safe Operating Procedures are followed;
  • Help in managing metallurgical and chemical engineering activities working with the operations team;
  • Assist in creating and distributing daily metallurgical and engineering reports;
  • Demonstrate safety leadership within a team environment and promote environmental awareness in all work or task related duties;
  • Maintain a high standard of performance in your duties;
  • Be an effective communicator in English (verbal and written) at all levels, including keeping other team members fully informed at all times
  • Participate in site specific training;
  • Comply with company standards, as well as Yukon Territory and Canadian federal standards;
  • Other duties may be assigned from time to time as required by the Company.
