Worker Type: EmployeeGroup: Sunrise Site Operations - Shift B - Team D DepartmentJob Post End Date: 11/07/2022About this opportunity:Cenovus is currently looking for three Plant Operators at the Sunrise Plant.The Plant Operator will effectively participate as a team member in the operation of Cenovus’ Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) facilities. Work Environment:

• Sunrise is located approximately 100 km northeast of the City of Fort McMurray and is a fly in/ fly out remote camp-based position with a
• 7 & 7 shift rotation, 12-hour rotating days & nights (Tuesday to Tuesday).
• Cenovus will provide transportation to Sunrise from designated hubs out of Calgary and Edmonton.
• At the Sunrise site, employees will be provided comfortable camp accommodations and recreational amenities.

Responsibilities:Responsible Operations:

• Monitor process conditions and initiate troubleshooting activities for all abnormal operational events and take corrective actions as necessary
• Supports COIMS and regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures. Understands role relative to the Alberta Power Engineers Regulation under the Safety Codes Act
• Execution of LOTO’s (Lock out Tag Out) as required
• Support maintenance by preparing equipment for scheduled work, submit work notifications within SAP, and re-instate equipment after maintenance activities
• Conduct walk-arounds, participate in formal safety audits; LOTO, HSE audits
• Support commissioning and start-up of new equipment and processes, as required
• Execute housekeeping activities, document, and take action as required

Qualifications:

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Minimum 1-year Operating experience
• Relevant experience in cyclic steam or SAGD thermal recovery heavy oil operations would be an asset
• Possess a 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate
• This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Cenovus Drug and Alcohol policy which includes pre-assignment testing
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft office suite
• Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
