Build deep relationships throughout the Canadian water resources community and client-base, known for providing pragmatic and technically robust solutions to our client’s water resource challenges.As a Senior Water Resource Engineer, you will join our Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta office as part of our Western Engineering team. In addition to leading water resource engineering projects that have a strong focus on applied hydrology and modelling, the successful applicant will support a wide range of projects that require hydrology support, including: impact assessments; operational monitoring programs; water management plans; closure support; channel restoration; surface/groundwater interaction; and spill response. Specific responsibilities include:Lead a variety of large- and small-scale water resource projects throughout the private and public sectors, including but not limited to: Master Plans; watershed investigations; feasibility studies; preliminary and detailed design. Specific services provided will include: stormwater management; flood mitigation; water supply; and nature-based infrastructure solutionsDevelop scopes of work, as well as oversee and/or perform watershed assessments, climate and hydrology data gathering and QA/QC, flow frequency analysis and water supply estimatesUtilize industry standard water resource modelling software to carry out predictive analysis on watersheds, drainage systems, channel hydraulics, and characterize fate and transport of legacy contaminants.Mentor junior and intermediate team members and build relationships with other business leadersEnsure client objectives and expectations are met and exceeded, while maintaining project scope, budget, schedule, and technical qualityDevelop and maintain client relationships as part of project execution and targeted business development activitiesLead the preparation of proposals, budgets, and work plansCollaborate with private and public sector clients, approval agencies, and sub-consultantsActively participate in maintaining Matrix’s strong safety cultureContribute to the strategic direction of Matrix’s growing team and work typesWhat We Are Looking ForBachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering.
