Job opportunity: Full Time Temporary Junior High Social Studies Teacher – Edwin Parr CompositeAspen View Public Schools, with a division office located in the town of Athabasca, is a rural school division providing diverse and innovative programming to students in a number of communities. The division is unique in that it is surrounded by a multitude of lakes, golf courses and trails that appeal to an active, outdoor lifestyle while still being in close proximity to larger urban centers.Many schools within Aspen View are geographically located to allow beginning teachers to meet the requirements of the Northern Student Teacher Bursary and/or Northern Alberta Development Council bursariesEdwin Parr Composite School, located in the Town of Athabasca, serves approximately 660 students from Grades 7-12. This new school building, opened in September 2018, is noted as one of the most progressive new schools built in the province. Athabasca lies two hours north of Edmonton with a population of 3,000 within the town; and an additional 4,000 in the surrounding county.Edwin Parr Composite School is looking for an energetic junior high social studies teacher. The successful applicant will teach social studies 7,8,9. EPC school has built in collaboration time where teachers meet during the school day to build common lessons, assessments and work as a team to help build a great social studies program. This position will be for a maternity leave for the 2021-2022 school year commencing on August 25, 2021 and expiring on June 30, 2022.Applications may be submitted online by Wednesday, June 9, 2021.
