Job Description

Do you consider yourself a talented CNC machinist! Were hiring a CNC Machinist/Set-up at our Intex Tooling Technologies Division! (Afternoon Shift)Where does the CNC Machinist/Set-up fit inAs the CNC Machinist/Set-up, you’ll need to be mechanically inclined and have an aptitude for math, computers, and numbers. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for following a set of blueprints or plans to cut or shape materials requiring precision measurements. You will need a good eye for detail and be comfortable working with various materials.What you can expect as our next CNC Machinist/Set-up:

  • Set-up and operate CNC machines as assigned for build and repair of injection molds and peripheral equipment
  • Follow design data and work orders and complete inspection records
  • Assist with troubleshooting problems with CNC machine as they arise
  • Develop machines, electrodes, etc. as required in collaboration with the EDM Department
  • Read and interpret part/mold design to set-up machines
  • Collaborate with EDM department for improvements of design of jigs and fixtures
  • Assist in continuous improvement projects
  • Assist CNC team leader with template optimization and department efficiencies
  • Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly
  • Ensure compliance of Intex’s standards and procedures
  • Additional duties as assigned
Do you have what is takes to be our next CNC Machinist/Set-up
  • Completion of grade 12 and CNC Training course
  • 2-3 years’ experience as a CNC machinist related to 3 axis & 5 axis
  • Knowledge & experience with FANUC and HEIDENHAIN controller an asset
  • CNC programming, set-up and operation experience
  • Experience & Knowledge in mould making or tool & die with 3D programming exposure an asset.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn and grow
  • Remains current with industry standards and methodologies for CNC programming & operation
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or equivalent
  • Capable of operating all common machine shop equipment
