Job Description

Invites applications for the position of:Lead Instructor - International LanguagesArabic, Cantonese, Farsi, Greek, Gujarati, Italian, Korean, Malayalam, Mandarin, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, Tamil, Ukrainian, UrduElementary ProgramFall 2022/ Winter 2023$30.77 per hour + $5.00Effective Dates HoursSaturdays - October 1, 2022 - June 10, 2023 9:30 am – 12:00 pmTues & Thurs - October 4, 2022- May 11, 2023 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm (remote only)LocationsRemote Learning and In-Person SitesMajor Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the daily operations and supervision of students and staff
  • Assist instructors/teachers in the delivery of non-credit International Language
  • Virtually meet with administration prior to the start of the program
  • Virtually meet with summer school staff to review program expectations and responsibilities
  • Attend a meeting virtually prior to the start of the program and possibly at the end of the program
  • Confirm placement of International Language instructors prior to the start of the programs
  • Communicate regularly with the program supervisor and/or the Continuing Education Elementary Principal
  • Monitor attendance and enrolment and report concerns to the Continuing Education staff
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents as required
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven leadership abilities and experience
  • Experience working with children
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Effective student discipline and classroom management skills
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
  • Previous and positive experiences as a Lead Instructor for Continuing Education and Virtual Learning Programs
  • Previous and positive experiences teaching International Languages
  • Principal Qualification Program Parts I and/or II
  • Be able to communicate in more than one language
