Job Description

JANA will be holding a virtual Hiring Event on Thursday, May 26, 2022, from 9am - 12pm ET, and wed like to invite you to participate! It will be a combination of group activities and 1-on-1 conversations that gives us a chance to get to know you and you a chance to experience a bit of the JANA Way.JANA is focused on improving the integrity of gas distribution and gas transmission pipeline systems through the application of advanced risk modeling technologies. Our models and software are defensible and highly predictive, allowing gas pipeline operators to take actions to reduce risk in their systems. This information is used for the development and implementation of data-driven solutions that support quantitative risk models for JANAs client base of pipeline operators. Technical Leadership
  • Leads technical planning and data gathering sessions with clients to develop in-depth solutions and build long-term relationships
  • Profile, clean and transform data by reviewing reports, documents, and performance indicators to prepare data for analysis
  • Interfaces with JANA’s Engineering and Software and JANA’s clients to understand business requirements and translate them into technical documents
  • Mine and analyze data from client and industry data sources to drive the implementation, optimization, and improvement of our Integrity Management solutions
  • Contribute to analysis, solution design, development, and implementation of operational, data warehouse, meta data, master data and data quality projects
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques
  • Develop, implement, and administer databases and data collections
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Support data quality and governance improvement opportunities
  • Work with large volumes of client and industry data (structured and unstructured).
  • Writes reports and provides quality peer-review and release of reports, as required
  • Develops best practices and tools for technical leadership
Team Leadership

  • Estimates the technical resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Delegates technical tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel in other areas of JANA
Technical Qualifications/Experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Math/Stats, Information Management or Computer Science
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in client facing and data related roles
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in MS SQL Server or another RDBMS like Oracle, DB2, Teradata, etc.
  • Hands-on ability to code in Python, JAVA, C#, or related languages
  • Pipeline operations or risk management knowledge an asset

  • Speaking/Presenting: Client facing, clearly articulates ideas, opinions and information in technical presentations and speeches so that the intended purpose is achieved, and the needs of the audience are met

  • Analytical Thinking: Summarizes information concisely and clearly identifies key elements, patterns, results or relationships; utilizes data to draw conclusions and make fact-based decisions
  • Able to travel to the U.S. on short notice on a Visitors Visa, such as the "B1" Visas that are routinely issued as a passport stamp when crossing the border
