Health & Dental Benefits for Full Time, Permanent Employees.About The Shed and Stonehaven The Shed and Stonehaven is a brand-new restaurant and banquet hall located in Aurora. The Shed restaurant will be offering members of York Regional Police Association and their guests a casual, upscale service and a place to unwind. Stonehaven is a new banquet hall and conference centre located within the same facility and is designed to accommodate groups up to 200 guests for weddings, corporate meetings and special events.About the OpportunityThe Shed and Stonehaven are actively recruiting enthusiastic candidates for our Food & Beverage team. Whether serving an unforgettable meal to our members on our expansive patio, or being a part of someone’s happily ever after, we want to provide an outstanding and memorable guest experience no matter the occasion.Job Requirements & Responsibilities· Reporting to Executive Chef and Sous Chef· Requirement: to work evenings, weekends, and holidays· Must be able to work in a high-volume environment· Knowledge of proper knife handling and usage· Prepare all hot and cold food menu items for the dining room and banquet food in a timely manner, and according to prep sheets and standardized recipes· Inform the Chef on duty of any foods or materials that need to be ordered· Expedite hot line orders in a timely and organized fashion· Keep par stocks of products as established by the Chef and Sous Chef· Maintain a proper mise en place and work ahead where feasible and possible· Assist your fellow workers when needed and promote teamwork· Report any faulty equipment or unsafe working conditions to the Chef on duty as soon as possible

  • Handle all food production in an organized, timely and efficient manner
  • Must maintain a clean and sanitary work environment (workstation, refrigerators, storage etc.)
  • Use safe food handling procedures as prescribed by York Region Public Health standards
  • Minimize waste by not overproducing and fully utilizing all trimmings and odd pieces where possible
  • Ensure all work areas are clean and organized and all equipment and hoods are turned off at end of one’s shift
  • Ensure all food products are stored properly by covering, labeling, and dating
  • Communicate and cooperate with all employees to foster a spirit of teamwork, satisfy our guest needs and reduce unnecessary waste of product or labour
  • Project a positive, self-motivated, professional attitude always
  • Any other jobs as assigned by the Chef on duty
  • Capable of working independently and unsupervised
Successful candidates will have: · Culinary education considered an asset· 2 years culinary experience in a kitchen environment including short order and banquet operations· Due to the nature of the industry, availability including day, evening and weekend work is required. Great flexibility offered to work around other job/school schedules if required.· Ability to obtain and maintain a food handler certification card· WHMIS, CPR/First Aid considered an asset· Must be able to stand continuously throughout an 8-hour shift· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds· Comfortable bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, and moving quickly· Ability to work nights, weekends and holidaysWhile we sincerely appreciate all applications, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.Please note, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a criminal background check, which must be successfully completed as a condition of employment.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $17.00-$20.00 per hourCOVID-19 considerations:Sanitizing stations through out facility, access to Rapid tests if neededExperience:
