Job Description

Are you extremely organized and detailed Do you take pride in meeting timelines and goals We need YOU as our next Production Planner/Scheduler!Where does the Production Planner/Scheduler fit inThe Production Planner/Scheduler will plan and coordinate end-to-end supply chain planning, including when goods should be produced, in what quantity, while optimizing the balance between customer delivery requirements and inventory levels. The scheduler will use the in-house MRP system processes for inventory tracking, supplier scheduling, process and workflow managementThe Production Planner/Scheduler will interface with internal teams such as Program Management, Logistics, Sales as well as external stakeholders to validate and communicate production/shipment plans and associated strategies that support overall business objectives.What can you expect as our next Production Planner/Scheduler

  • Function as the focal point in creating a production schedule using the best combination of MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) system and other tools (i.e., Excel spreadsheets)
  • Develop valid, feasible production schedules to meet customer requirements on time, based on equipment, labor and raw material availability.
  • Review and analyze the releases from customers and communicate well in advance to any issues that will have an impact on the due date.
  • Analyze the customer requirements and then effectively communicate the requirements to purchasing and manufacturing personnel.
  • Assist with maintaining data integrity of the MRP system with respect to forecasts, sales orders, purchase orders, production orders, and inventory.
  • Monitor, analyze and report performance to schedule of production activities utilizing information derived from material and production control system.
  • Assist the manufacturing department to actively manage to execute production as planned.
  • Coordinate with departments and project managers as needed, to identify and resolve issues such as not able to meet customer requirements on time due to tool and equipment issues and not having raw material on time.
  • Monitor the production schedule during the process and make changes when necessary, such as when resources do not arrive as planned or when equipment fails.
  • Monitor customer service, quality and on time delivery issues, taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify and resolve supplier and internal errors that result in not able to ship parts on time to customer and cause discrepancies on scheduling.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels, daily production outputs and plan cycle counting activities as required.
  • Provide continuous improvement of the planning and reporting processes.
  • Ensure all customer inquiries are answered in a timely manner which includes monitoring the FCA SMART system.
  • Routine duties to support department activities and equipment. May include supervision of others performing these duties.
  • Stay informed of current and long term customer requirements, manufacturing workload and manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate and manage tool trials and other special projects as required.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethic codes.
  • Assist with recruitment activities as needed to support company objectives.
  • Assist with the development, documentation, and implementation of procedures per the Quality System.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of projects, individuals and the Company
Are you our next Production Planner/Scheduler
  • Post-secondary diploma in Business Administration, Operations Management or a technical field along with 5+ years’ experience in planning/scheduling and proven performance in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, honest and through. A versatile, self-starter with a positive attitude, who is cautiously assertive.
  • Ability to modulate with a dynamic workload: From heavy multi-tasking during peak workloads – to very focused detail-oriented work during critical projects.
  • Able to take calls during off-shift hours, if necessary, when urgent scheduling decisions are required.
  • Strong customer service, management, organizational and communication skills are required.
  • Team attitude; eager to cooperate with others with exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis.
  • Ability to positively motivate individuals and teams to meet or exceed production expectations.
  • Work ethics that complement Company’s long standing culture of high integrity throughout all areas of internal and external business activity.
  • Competent with computer software such as Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Knowledge of MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) system.
  • Understanding of IATF - 16949 requirements
