Job Description

Summit Veterinary Pharmacy is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our IT Operations team.Located in Aurora, Ontario, Summit has been supplying prescription compounded medications to veterinary clinics across Canada for over 20 years. If you require any accommodation at any point in the recruitment and selection process, please contact our Human Resources Department.Description of the RoleReporting to the IT Manager, this role has a focus on providing exceptional technical support for a wide variety of IT systems and solutions in operation at Summit. The Systems Administrator will be a key point of contact for IT operational support across the organization. Summit is looking to hire a Systems Administrator who exhibits solid troubleshooting skills, excellent communication and strong customer service. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and able to work independently and also within the team of 3 IT Operations professionals. This position is based in Aurora, OntarioSummit Veterinary Pharmacy provides a competitive salary and benefits package.Principal Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a primary responder for all IT incidents
  • Works with coworkers to diagnose and resolve IT-related issues
  • Works with management team & other employees to design and implement IT solutions based on business needs
  • Maintains and administers a range of devices, operating systems and applications including but not limited to Windows Desktops/Laptops/Servers, VOIP telephone system, paper and label printers, barcode scanners
  • Maintains and administers a range of networking devices, including but not limited to switches, routers, firewalls
  • Maintains Windows Server Infrastructure: Hyper-V 2019, AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Exchange 2016, MS SQL, Print Services
  • Maintain backup/replication systems
  • Maintain Firewall (NAT, VPN, Packet Scanning Engines) with an emphasis on maximizing security
  • Manage repairs and toner replacement with Managed Print Services provider for printer fleet
  • Maintain and/or create Documentation of all I.T. Operations systems
  • Maintain asset inventory
  • Aid in development and maintenance of Disaster Recovery plan
  • Assist the I.T. manager as required/requested

Educational Requirements:
  • Degree/Diploma/Certification in Computer Science or Systems Administration
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
Hours of Work:
  • Monday to Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm (Schedule subject to change due to Covid-19 Pandemic)
