The Pro Shop Assistant is responsible for customer service and sale of golf merchandise and services. The Pro Shop Assistant performs a variety of duties including, but not limited to, customer service in the sale of golf merchandise, answering phones and booking tee times, checking-in golfers, upselling golf merchandise, cleaning and stocking of Pro Shop, monitoring and dealing with on-course issues as they arise.Reporting to the PGA of Canada Head Golf Professional and working as a key member of the Golf Services team, the Pro Shop Assistant works to ensure that the Pro Shop Services support the goals of the club.Responsibilities / Duties· Supervision of the day-to-day operations of the Pro Shop and Outside Golf Services· Create/Maintain an excellent work environment based on team work· Merchandising of retail stock along with sales and billing· Assist with inventory control and retail operations· Assist with preparation of special events/member events and tournaments· Provide exceptional customer service to members and guestsRequirements· Excellent communication skills, both oral and written· Outgoing and approachable demeanor· Highly motivated and guest driven with a proven ability to solve problems and make timely guest service decisions· Ability to deal with high pressure situations in a fast paced environment· Flexible work schedule (weekends, evenings, holidays)· Work well in a team environment· Computer and POS experience (Lightspeed)· Working knowledge of social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)· Aspirations towards PGA of Canada Membership considered an assetTerms and Benefits· Above industry average compensation· Employment through the end of October 2022· Duty meal while on shift· Golf and retail perks· PGA of Canada Mentorship opportunities· Career development assistance in other areas of golf business (Turf Care, F&B, etc)Job Types: Full-time, SeasonalContract length: 4 monthsSalary: From $15.00 per hourSchedule:
