The combined company consolidated operations in Baie-d’Urfé, Quebec, Canada in a class 9 (clean) facility.Responsibilities:The Injection Moulding Technician Level II assists in the preparation and setup of molds and the efficient running of molding machines and auxiliary equipment. Performs duties related to the maintenance of a clean work environment as well as ensuring that resin requirements for machines are monitored and maintained.

  • Interpret work orders, shipping & packing instruction, and operator instructions in order to ensure the workstations are functioning and fully stocked as required.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following established company policies and procedures.
  • Install and remove moulds on Engel and Arburg injection moulding machines.
  • Maintenance and use of all in house systems as required.
  • Carefully follow the instructions of the level III injection moulding technician, assist if necessary.
  • Report any safety, operational or quality problems to the level III injection moulding technician or person in charge.
  • Monitor Understand the ISO-9001, IATF 16949 –2016, ISO 13485 & AS9100:2004 quality standards and their impact on your role.
  • Participate in all training sessions and meetings as required.
  • Visually inspect the parts produced at the beginning of each shift to detect any contamination of the parts or any other obvious visual defect and correct the defect.
  • Ensures that assembly procedures are followed and that careful adjustments are made, if necessary.
  • Optimize machine cycle time and mould changeover time.
  • Check "pre-production parts" before submitting them to the quality department. Ensure that safety rules are respected and maintained in the factory.
  • Able to operate all machines in the moulding department.
  • Able to understand and apply the inspection procedures as defined in the inspection plans.
  • Perform additional tasks as determined by the supervisor.
  • Availability to work day, evening and night shifts as required.
Requirements:
  • 3 to 5 years related working experience in precision injection moulding.
  • Experience with Engel and Arburg injection moulding presses.
  • Excellent knowledge of the plastic raw materials and proper handling and drying procedures.
  • Understand the technical data sheets of the raw materials in relation to the technical data sheets of the moulds.
  • Able to life parts/equipment up to 25 kgs.
  • Good manual dexterity and ability to handle small objects.
  • Organized and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic.
  • Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual French and English spoken and written an asset.
