Job Description

Scotts Canada Ltd is seeking an individual to fill a Loader Operator position, This position is permanent and seasonal.Applicants MUST:

  • Have reliable transportationamp; display acceptable attendance
  • Work independently and as part of a team and be capable of working overtime on short notice
  • Be capable of working in a dusty environment
  • Must meet minimum requirements of the position within the probationary period
  • No physical restrictions limiting one’s ability to properly wear Personal Protective Equipment, climb into and down from the operator cab multiple times per day or lift up to 50 pounds
  • Provide a CPIC (Criminal Record) Check. Note: This is NOT a requirement for current Scotts Associates
  • Must be able to safely demonstrate skill operating a wheel loader
  • Must have good vision and the ability to work at night
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Stockpiling of bulk peat
  • Loading bulk peat into open-top trailers
  • Product covering
  • Snow removal
  • Basic maintenance of equipment (cleaning, lubrication, etc.)
  • Record keeping
  • Other duties, as assigned
Applicants MAY have to provide a driver’s abstract (driving record) Bilingualism is an asset, but not a requirement.Wages as per collective agreement. Currently $20.80 per hour.
