We have been operating Meadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over nine years. The mine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 is anticipated to be the last year of the Meadowbank mine production and it is now transitioning to process the satellite deposit Amaruq for August 2019.YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent, the Security Officer is part of the Health & Safety Department and collaborates with other departments of the mine. The incumbent coordinates the security sector of the Health & Safety Department and ensures good security practices in terms of the road, building, gold and employee security, as well as playing an important role in investigations, policy conception, gold security logistics, and security communication. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.Patrol the camp site on foot and the mine site/roads in a vehicle and on AWAR;Supervise employee security;Respond to various incidents and emergencies;Follow rules, procedures, and protocols;Conduct proper investigations into security incidents;Gather evidence and ensure proper handling of exhibits;Produce internal reports and provide feedback on incidents and investigations;Foster good relationships with other employees and liaise with the local communities and authorities;Lead and coordinate emergency operations with other emergency services.WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEEDProven experience in law enforcement (7 years minimum at the municipal, provincial or federal level);RCMP/Police Officer certification required;Valid driver’s license;Working knowledge of interview techniques and scene management;Ability to build effective working relationships;Sound judgment along with effective decision-making skills;Must demonstrate responsibility, dependability, honesty, confidentiality and integrity;Strong analytical skills along with good interviewing and interrogation skills;Experience working in a multicultural environment;Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;Willing to submit to extensive experience, medical and criminal background checks;Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written).
