Successful applicants will enjoy a competitive salary, medical and dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan, relocation privileges and opportunities for training and career advancement.Reporting to the Regional Manager Family Wellness, the Supervisor Family Wellness is responsible for the effective leadership and management of community social workers responsible for the provision of a full range of essential social programs and services, including Child Protection and Family Services.The incumbent ensures compliance with professional standards, protocols and best practices and supports the enhancement of appropriate linkages with staff as well as allied agencies and community organizations. Operating within a defined budget, the incumbent is required to use sound judgment in allocating funds in the most appropriate manner. This position is vital to the communities and the department of Family Services.The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, plus three (3) years of related, proven supervisory experience or a Master’s Degree with (1) year of proven supervisory experience. This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktitut, English and French. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.Acceptable combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position.
