We have been operating at Meadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over nine years. The mine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 marked the last year of production at the Meadowbank mine, and has since transitioned to process ore from the Amaruq satellite deposit. With the official opening of the Amaruq Whale Tail Project in August 2019, the project is now referred to as the Meadowbank Complex.YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:Reporting to the Maintenance General Supervisor, the Underground Maintenance Supervisor coordinates the mobile maintenance team within the Maintenance Department and works in close collaboration with their team members, as well as members of the other departments of the division. The incumbent ensures that the best maintenance practices of team members under their supervision are applied in terms of preventative, corrective and modification maintenance, as well as playing an important role in the organization and follow up of the performed maintenance activities. The Underground Maintenance Supervisor ensures goals and objectives are attained, while respecting and encouraging Agnico Eagle’s company culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.Responsibilities:Supervise and coach a multidisciplinary maintenance team of mechanics and welders;Evaluate work order requests with the General Supervisor and organize the weekly jobs to execute according to the weekly schedule and levels of urgency (planning for and approving maintenance to be done for urgent cases);Ensure that preventative and corrective maintenance work is being performed properly and on scheduleEnsure that procedures are followed in accordance with the company’s health and safety rules and environmental regulations, leading by example;Review key performance indicators (KPI’s) and determine corrective measures to be taken, communicating them to the team;Assist the General Supervisor with the preparation of departmental budgets, ensuring that the budget is respected;Apply the principles of the Supervision Formula;Ensure proper transfer of information with the cross-shift.WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEEDMaintenance Technician/Technologist certificate or diploma or hold a trades certification, or combination of other education and experience;Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience in mining operations or relevant industry (underground mining experience is considered an asset);Thorough knowledge of mobile mining equipment;Proficiency in maintenance planning using computerized maintenance software (JDE experience considered an asset);Cultural awareness and understanding of work in the Canadian Arctic is an asset;Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;Common core/underground mining modules certificate will be considered an asset;Must possess good organizational skills, problem solving abilities and familiarity with excellent maintenance practices;Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite software such as Outlook, Excel, and Word;Must have advanced English language skills, written and spoken; selected candidates must attain a passing mark on a Speexx English language assessment.Your Work ScheduleSchedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec.Job: MaintenancePrimary Location: Nunavut-Baker LakeOrganization: Agnico Eagle MinesSchedule: Full-timeShift Schedule: 14/14Employment Type Code: SalariedPosting End Date: Apr 23, 2021, 10:59:00 PM
