Job Description

Muin Sipu Learning CenterBear River First Nation ReserveP.O. Box 210Bear River, NS B0S 1B0Job Posting: Early Childhood Educator (ECE)Muin Sipu Learning Center offers early learning programs as well as after school programming. The Center offers a play-based, emergent and culturally meaningful curriculum for all programs. We are looking for a qualified, passionate and motivated individual to join our team of educators.This position is from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.Qualifications:

  • A diploma, certificate or degree in Early Childhood Education from a recognized institution
  • Minimum Level 1 ECE certification
  • Valid First Aid Certification with Infant CPR
  • Clear and valid child abuse registry, criminal record and vulnerable person checks
Responsibilities:
  • Play-based, emergent program development, including observations and evaluation of play and development of the children in your care
  • Work collaboratively with other ECE’s in a team environment
  • Provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment to enhance development in all areas, while providing for the health and social well-being of the children
  • Use of appropriate behavior guidance techniques
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with children, staff, parents and manager
  • Maintain an inviting and clean classroom environment
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
