Job Description

Job PostingHalifax Regional Municipality is inviting applications for the casual position of Summer Youth Live Program Assistant in Parks and Recreation. HRM encourages applicants to self-identify.The Summer Youth Live Program Assistant will support the Youth Support Workers to deliver training to the youth participants, conduct assessments, and reach out to past program participants and collect feedback on how the program impacted them.The Summer Recreation Youth Live Program Assistant will report to the Youth Support Workers.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:The Summer Recreation Youth Live Program Assistant will report to the Youth Support Workers.You will assist with the delivery of the following:

  • Deliver training modules to youth participants (ages 16-24)
  • Collect feedback from past program participants (via phone, email and social media)
  • You will collect stories and feedback from current youth participants
  • Assist with the implementation of the corporate Youth Services Plan
  • Edit Program Testimonial videos using Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Develop and contribute content for Youth Lives social media accounts
  • You will help to process administrative paperwork
  • Successful applicants will be required to attend training sessions
QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience
  • Must have one year/summer season of planning and implementing programs or events
  • Must have completed Grade 12
  • Must have good organizational skills and time management
  • Must have a valid NS drivers license and access to a vehicle
Technical / Job Specific Knowledge and Abilities
  • Experience with using social media
  • Youth related programming experience considered an asset
  • Experience with video editing software (such as Adobe Premiere Pro)
  • Screening though the Child Abuse Registry and a Police Records Check (with vulnerable sectors check)
