Job Description

Together, we are stronger and achieve more.Viterra is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for assigning, coordinating, and participating in the regular maintenance and repair activities at various locations, while ensuring the provision of safe, timely and efficient service.Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and participate in work activities, ensuring a high standard of workmanship, including:
  • Safety and regulatory inspections;
  • Maintenance of material bulk handling;
  • Adhere to facility repair and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Budget, plan, communicate and execute on large-scale facility shutdowns with various internal contractors and external Viterra staff.
  • Order and check pre-ordered material and complete local purchases. Participate in work site business planning meetings as required with local operations employees.
  • Control and monitor critical equipment inventory, based on facility design and inventory availability.
  • Identify safety training requirements and ensure staff have completed their necessary training.
  • Ensure company equipment and material receives proper care custody, maintenance and usage.
  • Evaluate employee performance and make recommendations to the manager on hiring, promotion and discharge of employees.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience in maintenance project planning.
  • Experience in reading building plans and blueprints.
  • Demonstrated physical ability to perform the functions of the job.
  • Availability to work extended or on-call hours.
Education and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of four (4) years progressive experience in bulk material handling maintenance and repairs, three (3) years of which have been as a Maintenance Technician or Millwright.
  • Grade 12 or recognized equivalent.
  • Journeyman level certificate in the Industrial Mechanic/Millwright trade, supplemented with supervisory training.
