Job Description

As a Guest Services Representative / Night Auditor at the Microtel Inn & Suites - Blackfalds you will be an intregral part of the team. The role will contribute to the overall success of the hotel by anticipating guest needs and providing superior customer service and communication skills during all guest interactions. The position is responsible for maintaining a positive work environment at the hotel while maintaining high internal & external guest service standards as well as ensuring a smooth transition into the following daily processes.Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments
  • Registers arriving guests and assigns rooms
  • Answer enquiries regarding hotel services and provides information about services available in the community
  • Responds to guests complaints
  • Presents statements of charges to departing guests and receive payment
  • Handles cash, debit and credit card transactions
  • Compiles and checks daily record sheets, guest accounts, receipts and vouchers using computerized and manual systems
  • Daily accounting data entry and reconciliation
  • Runs all night audit reports and reports any discrepancies to the General Manager
  • Posts any late charges not posted on previous shift
  • Completes payment ledgers
  • Balances all payment types
  • Sends audit reports to ownership group and general manager via email
  • Contributes to achieving the loyalty of our guests by exceeding their expectations and providing warm personal service
  • Ensuring guest safety and security by conducting walk-throughs of the hotel
  • Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance
  • other duties as required
Job Requirements:
  • Outstanding guest service skills
  • Experience in all aspects of customer service and people management
  • Strong working knowledge of hospitality industry principles, methods, practices and techniques
  • Stong working knowledge of accounting practices and principles
  • Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation and objective handling skills
  • Able to respond quickly to a dynamic and changing environment
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners and customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong team player
  • Mult-tasking proficiency
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Positive and professional demeanor
  • Must have basic computer experience (including but not limited to: Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, Google Docs/Sheets and property management systems - Opera training an asset).
  • Minimum 3 year in the customer service environment
  • Previous Guest Service / Front Desk / Night Audit experience a definite asset
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts inclusive of overnight, weekends and holidays.
