We are leaders in precast concrete and proudly serve all over Western Canada. We manufacture precast for industrial, commercial, agricultural, and civil infrastructure and have built an outstanding name in the construction industry. Our dedicated team has grown to 500+ full-time employees.Our manufacturing plant is hiring a dynamic Overhead Crane Operator on our Day Shift who wants to contribute to the advancement of construction and join a fast-growing company. The position will be situated in our manufacturing plant in Blackfalds. The successful candidate will have experience operating overhead cranes in a warehouse/manufacturing environment and be physically fit with the ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. They will demonstrate good eye-hand coordination, attention to safety, and effective communication.Job Description

  • Operate crane to hoist, move and place materials and precast product
  • Knowledgeable with crane inspections, calculating the proper weight of loads and the weight limit for cranes and rigging components
  • Proficient with crane hand signals
  • Safely assess workplace hazards to determine a safe path to transport loads, ensuring all workers are aware of cranes approaching
  • Perform routine crane maintenance and inspect the crane for any defective parts and notify the supervisor of defects or malfunctions
  • Safely operate a variety of equipment to load, unload and move materials and product
  • Responsible for general shop duties when required
  • Work effectively within a crew of 3-5 team members
  • Climb to heights and conduct work with proper safety restraints
  • Must be physically fit, able to stand for long periods, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting to 50lbs
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure the shop/loading bay is kept organized and clean
Assets
  • Overhead crane training/certificate
Requirements
  • Previous experience operating overhead cranes and knowledge of rigging
  • Available to work Monday to Friday, occasional Saturday as required
  • Shifts will start at 7 am, end times will vary
  • Must be flexible and willing to work overtime
  • Must be physically fit to perform demanding work for extended periods of time
  • Basic understanding of construction principles considered an asset
  • The ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Valid class 5 license and reliable transportation to drive to the shop every day
  • Local or willing to relocate to central Alberta
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
