We are a rapidly growing organization and have the opportunity for a Junior Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team of professionals in our general contracting division.The ideal candidate will be a diligent individual that can prepare accurate construction estimates for design build projects by gathering information and analyzing important variables. You will be responsible for estimating multiple projects at one time while working independently and in a team environment. Must possess excellent communication skills, numerical skills, an analytical mindset, and strong organization skills.Don’t quite meet the job description/requirements We are willing to train the right candidate that is eager to learn, has a construction background and demonstrates a go-getter attitude.Job Descriptions

• Responsible for quantity take off, pricing of work and material, and closing of tenders
• Complete estimates for residential multistory buildings, commercial, agricultural, or industrial
• Review specifications and drawings of open tenders
• Supply necessary sub-trades with required drawings and data
• Review designs and specifications for cost effectiveness; provide recommendations for alternates where applicable
• Review project plans and specifications and coordinate with team members to confirm complete scope
• Work effectively in estimating take off software, Excel spreadsheets and construction estimating software.

Assets

• Familiar with precast concrete is considered
• Graduate from a recognized construction program or equivalent
• Basic knowledge in Autodesk software (Revit, AutoCAD)

Requirements

• Understanding of building systems such as mechanical, electrical, structure and exterior envelope
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Attentive to detail, organized and able to meet deadlines under pressure are a must
• English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Critical thinker and problem solver
• A valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
• Must be available to work flexible hours if required
• Willing to relocate to central Alberta
• Must be eligible to work in Canada. Currently, we are unable to sponsor internationally.
