We are looking for a Precast Checker to join our dynamic drafting team. We are leaders in precast concrete and proudly serve all over Western Canada. We manufacture precast for industrial, commercial, agricultural, multi-story residential and civil infrastructure and have built an outstanding name in the construction industry.Reporting to the Precast Drafting Manager, you will be responsible for checking construction and shop drawings related to precast projects. You will work closely with a strong knowledgeable team in a fast-paced environment with leading-edge technology.Job Descriptions

  • Responsible for ensuring precast installation drawings are completed and correct according to the project’s construction drawings
  • Responsible for checking structural details on precast installation drawings and ensuring they are both practical and efficient
  • Responsible for checking precast shop drawings for accuracy and content according to the installation drawings
  • Working with drafters in the department to ensure that proper drafting standards are being upheld and followed
  • Ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is available to complete checks
Assets
  • 3 years of experience in a senior/lead position
  • Familiar with construction terms and processes
  • Experience working with precast concrete systems
  • Strong working knowledge of interpreting and producing shop drawings
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a related checking role is required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Excellent Revit and AutoCAD drafting skills
  • Outstanding communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Deadline driven with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to learn and retain new skills in a timely matter
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada. We are unable to sponsor international candidates at this time.
  • Local or willing to relocate to central Alberta
