The diligent individual will prepare accurate precast estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important variables. Responsible for estimating multiple projects at one time while working independently and in a team environment. Must possess excellent communication skills, numerical aptitude, analytical mindset, and exceptional organization.Don’t quite meet the job description/requirements below We are willing to train the right candidate that is eager to learn, has a construction background and demonstrated a go-getter attitude.Job Description

• Responsible for quantity take-off, pricing of work and material, the closing of tenders and preparing quotes
• Review specifications and drawings of open tenders
• Communicate effectively with third-party vendors and project team members to get the information required to complete accurate cost estimates
• Review designs and specifications for cost-effectiveness; provide recommendations for alternatives where applicable
• Review project plans and specifications and coordinate with team members to confirm the complete scope

Assets

• Previous experience as an estimator or similar position
• Familiar with construction terms and processes
• An understanding of precast concrete
• Basic knowledge of Autodesk software (Revit, AutoCAD)

Requirements

• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Attentive to detail, organized and able to meet deadlines under pressure is a must
• English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Able to work in a team environment and independently
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• A valid class 5 drivers’ license, acceptable driver’s abstract and reliable transportation
• Available to work Monday-Friday and the occasional Saturday
• Minimum 40 hours per week, must be flexible and willing to work overtime
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think outside the box
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
• Local to central Alberta or willing to relocate to central Alberta
• Must be eligible to work in Canada. Currently, we are unable to sponsor international candidates.
