We are hiring energetic individuals who want to contribute their skills and become a vital team member on our yard crew. If you are eager, hardworking, and seeking a long-term commitment, we want to hear from you!The Rigger/Swamper position will require a high degree of organizational skills to ensure materials are loaded and ready to be transported to jobsites at a faster than average pace while ensuring quality is never compromised. The work requires coordination with crane operators and other team members to load and move our product throughout our Yard and to the jobsite in a safe and effective manner.The ideal candidate is physically fit, has previous rigging/swamping experience, is familiar with overhead and gantry cranes, and has knowledge of proper crane safety and hand signals. This position is local to Blackfalds, will require you to work outside in all weather conditions and involves physical work as you will be expected to assist and instruct the crane operators and riggers. Must be comfortable climbing ladders, working at heights, willing to work a day or evening shifts, punctual and demonstrate a positive go-getter attitude.Job Descriptions

  • Assist with the rigging and signals of cranes
  • Climb to heights and conduct work with proper safety restraints
  • Responsible for general yard and loading bay laboring duties
  • Work effectively within a crew of 3-5 team members in the yard
  • Physical activity including bending and lifting up to 50lbs
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure the yard and shipping area is kept organized and clean
  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions
Assets
  • Previous construction and equipment operating experience
  • Overhead Crane experience and knowledge with rigging
Requirements
  • Available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, must be flexible and willing to work overtime
  • Available to work; day shift (4:30am start time) or night shift (4pm or 6pm start time)
  • Occasional Saturday shift required
  • Must be physically fit to perform demanding work for extended periods of time
  • The ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Valid class 5 license and reliable transportation to drive to the yard/shop every day
  • Local to central Alberta or willing to relocate to central Alberta
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada. Currently, we are unable to sponsor international candidates
