Job Description

The Town of Blackfalds is accepting applications for Visitor Services Officer (seasonal) who will participate in the operations of the Visitor Information Centre, deliver tourism services, coordinate and host a variety of community events,. The Visitor Services Officer will provide assistance to Wadey Centre visitors including the Historical Society, and assist with ongoing municipal Economic Development and Tourism operations and initiatives, including social media and the development and administration of surveys and plansMust have strong customer service, communication, and marketing skills with a high comfort level working with the public. A strong knowledge of Blackfalds & surrounding area is considered an asset.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Greet and welcome visitors and provide local & regional tourism information to visitors.Create, update, and distribute online and print promotional content.Administrative assistance: research and statistical tracking and analysis.Organize and attend / work public events.Develop and administer interviews and surveys.Organize and restock tourism materials.Gift shop / snack sales and cash handling.Photography and videography.Light cleaning as required.Additional Requirements:Must be a minimum 18 years of ageValid Drivers License with current Driver’s AbstractRCMP Criminal Record CheckThe hours of work are 35 hours every 2 weeks; including evenings and weekends.The starting hourly wage is $21.14 / hourPlease submit your application online via our applicant tracking system by Thursday, July 8, 2021 4pm.Quick Apply
