Job Description

Hours:Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, 1 hr lunch breakWorkspace:Primarily office, with exposure to a shop/warehouse environment.Occasional travel within the city, rare travel requirements outside of the cityJob PurposeInside Sales is responsible for handling customer orders and providing support for the outside sales team.They are also responsible for quoting pricing to customers and sharing the information with the outside sales representative who is servicing the territory. Primary responsibilities• Take incoming phone and email orders and questions, process them and respond to customers in a timely manner • Provide quotes and process returns as per company policy• Generate new and repeat sales by providing pricing and technical information to customers• Handle difficult customers and situations with diplomacy and tact• Communicate to the Inventory Control and Production Planning departments unexpected increases or decreases in demand for stock• Attend interdepartmental meetings such as shipping meetings (All) and planning meetings (when relevant or requested)• Create and share reports as requested by management (Ex: EOD, On Time shipping, NSO, Lost Sales etc.)• Monitor scheduled shipment dates and communicate with shipping to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed• Making calls to vendors in relation to product knowledge, delivery schedules when it relates to orders• Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints • Remain current on customer needs by attending sales meetings or reading minutes and reading the outside sales call reports and quarterly reports• Process international orders and follow procedure with shipping• Relay accurate information from vendors to customers relating to shipment dates and delays• Follow ISO 9001:2015 processes and procedures as applicable• Order product from suppliers when applicable to expedite for customer needs• Assist shipping/receiving and do double checks as required• Follow up on all critical ordersSecondary Responsibilities• Contribute to overall corporate goals such as:revenue growth, efficiency initiatives (ie; Lean 5S), net profit growth.• Involvement and contributions to project teams as required• Being cross trained on the single point of contact customers• Contribute to short and long term sales strategies• Execute product launches as required• Assist in training of new employees (OTJ Training)• Drive improvements into all sales related processesSkills or Experience Requirements• Proficient in Excel, Microsoft office• Exposure to ERP software• 2+ years inside sales experience in oil and gas or manufacturing settingDesirable Skills or Experience• Strong customer service abilities• Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Excel, and windows-based software• Proficient Inter-company communication • Ability to work as a member of a team or a team lead• Foundation sales training – Sandler or equivalent• Manufacturing systems (5S, Lean, etc) • Leadership, project management, time management, Desirable Attributes• Integrity, Reliability, Respect, Acceptance, Realism, Transparencyamp; Confidentiality• Empathetic, Cooperative, Communicative, Adaptable, Balanced, Open Minded, Good Listener, Proactive, Focus, Resourcefulness, Strong work ethic, Active listening, Coach-ability• Able to communicate effectively to a diverse audiencePerformance Metrics• Growing total revenue while increasing the 100-500 and 500-2000 dollar per order percentages• Less than a 0.5% error rate on tracked shipping and picklist errors• Completing goals set forth in performance reviews and quarterly performance checks (these are determined by the employee in the reviews and performance checks)About Plainsman Mfg.
