Job Type:Cost of Services SoldJob Posting Title:Shipping and Receiving TechJob Description Summary:Responsible to perform the daily operations of Shipping and Receiving functions to include processing and delivery of all external and internal shipments.Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipmentUtilizes various technologies including but not limited to computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), FedEx, UPS, Outlook email, and iPhone for the purpose of processing shipping/receiving ordersDetermine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and ratesAffix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipmentAssemble wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers, packages items into containers using appropriate packing materialsAffix identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containersPost weights and shipping charges, and affix postageUnpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortagesReceive, deliver and route items to various locations. May require driving company vehicle from various locations in Boston, Cambridge, and S. Boston.Follows customer’s standard operating procedures (SOP’s) related to regulated processExamine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specificationsMaintain inventory and tracking of shipping materials and suppliesMay use hand truck and dolly to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work areaMay require lifting and/or moving objects in excess of 50 pounds and pushing up to 100 poundsOther duties as assigned which may include providing assistance to General Maintenance TechniciansMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or GEDValid Driver’s License1+ years of relevant experienceCustomer service and professionalSelf-starter, motivated, team player with the ability to prioritize workDemonstrated willingness and ability to work independently and productively and to accept directionHighly organized and excellent record-keeping abilitiesAbility to frequently move and lift 50+ poundsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferredInternational Air Transport Association (IATA) certification preferred but not requiredCandidates must be able to successfully pass a background check, including criminal history._C&W Services is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
