Stewardship is responsible for compliance with provincial regulatory requirements relating to packaging and products thus providing the right environment to learn and grow while facing the complexities of a challenging field.Why is this role important Our goal is to meet or exceed provincial regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Stewardship Manager, you will be instrumental in setting up deposit and fee structures in our central system. This will enable accurate collections from customers across all applicable provinces. Precision is key in this role, as it impacts both customer transactions and provincial settlements. Join a dedicated team with exposure to industries within the Loblaw enterprise including grocery retail, pharmaceutical, homeamp; entertainment and apparel.What will you do • Conduct thorough reviews of new product listings, both National Brand and Private label, to determine applicable deposit and fee.• Ensure product labels comply with recycling program eligibility.• Collaborate with product suppliers to clarify eligibility criteria.• Utilize job aids/daily reports to accurately determine the deposit/fee amounts for collection and payment to Producer Responsibility Organizations.• Address email inquiries from stores regarding product eligibility or deposit/fee setup.• Respond to customer questions about charges reflected on their receipts.• Engage with Producer Responsibility Organizations to update deposit/fee information as needed.• Manage program changes for both Loblaw and Shoppers• Manage registration of beverage containers in provinces• Support external audit requirements.What are we looking for • A candidate with post-secondary education and a keen interest in regulatory compliance.• Experience working in an SAP environment is highly valued.• A professional background that demonstrates the ability to navigate regulatory requirements in any field.• Effective communication and Strong technical and analytical skills• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft applications• Ability to work well and independently within a team environment.How will you succeed At Loblaw, we seek great people to continually strengthen our culture.
