JOB TITLE: Aquatic Attendant (Professor #39;s Lake - Summer 2024)DEPARTMENT:Community ServicesNUMBER OF POSITIONS: 20JOB STATUSamp; DURATION:Part-time, seasonal and temporaryHOURS OF WORK: 24 hour workweek / variable hoursLOCATION: Professor #39;s LakeHOURLY RATE: $18.67POSTING DATE:December 18, 2023CLOSING DATE:January 30, 2024AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:Reporting to the Deck/Beach Supervisor/RecreationProgrammer/Recreation Coordinator, Supervise and maintain a safe, enjoyable environment for all users.

  • Supervise participants and maintain complete vigilance to minimize risks, and be ready to respond at all times
  • Assist with the facilitation of the Aquatic Admission Standards testing during swims
  • Maintain a safe and tidy program space ensuring equipment is set-up and stored appropriately
  • Provide a high level of front line customer service including greeting and engaging participants
  • Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policiesamp; Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff
  • Attend meetings/training as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
SELECTION CRITERIA:
  • Minimum 15 years of age
  • Current Standard First Aid / CPR C from an accredited organization, or ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hire
  • Current Lifesaving Society Bronze Cross, or ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hire
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
