Job DescriptionReporting to the Manager, Total Rewards, this exciting opportunity would be well suited for an enthusiastic, creative and collaborative self-starter who thrives in an environment of innovation and driving change through the implementation of best in class Total Rewards/Compensation practices.The Compensation Coordinator is an integral part of a busy and dynamic Human Resources Department and is the first point of contact for all Compensation inquiries.The Compensation Coordinator will be expected to exercise sound judgment, excellent communication skills, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently and as part of the team.The Compensation Coordinator will play a key role working in collaboration with the Compensation Specialist in providing specialized services within the Total Rewards team including but not limited to the day to day administration of compensation systems and benefit programs, collective agreement and pay for performance increases and other various rate adjustments for both union and non-union employee groups, job description process, job evaluation process, Pay Equity, HRIS dictionary updates, job code creation, Ontario Hospital Association survey submissions as well as initiating, collecting and summarizing Hospital survey data on a variety of positions within the organization.Accountabilities:

  • Acts as the first point of contact for internal and external inquiries related to Compensation
  • Responsible for the day to day administration of compensation systems including providing TR Team Support
  • Assists in the analysis and review of current compensation programs and processes by researching market trends, analyzing competitive compensation survey data, and making recommendations for program changes
  • Ensure compensation program documentation is up to date and accurate as well as updating education materials for the business and HR
  • Assists with the planning, preparing and implementation of the Collective Agreement increases and Pay for Performance increases
  • Responsible for the setup and maintenance of job codes and positions in the HR System
  • Supports the job description process including researching, writing, and ensuring templates/formats adhere to the Compensation guidelines are complete for evaluation
  • Participates in non union job evaluations, including recommending the appropriate job level, maintaining job codes in the system, and ensuring documentation is maintained for all decisions
  • Administers compensation surveys to compensation network when in need of job descriptions/salary information/policies etc. and compiles results for distribution
  • Responds to daily ad-hoc survey requests from external hospitals involved in compensation network
  • Support the annual OHA survey submissions via updating rates and auditing rate changes prior to submission
  • Applies pay equity knowledge and participates in reviews to ensure that WOHS continues to maintain pay equity for all employee groups.
  • Generates ad hoc compensation reports for review/analysis to help inform compensation decisions
  • Continuous focus on process improvement, auditing, streamlining as well as keeping abreast of all relevant legislative changes
  • Assists the Manager, Total Rewards and Compensation Specialist with broader compensation and benefits initiatives and projects
  • Support on other areas of Total Rewards
